Ken Rodney Construction- Providing a Solution

Today’s blog takes us to a beautiful part of rural North Yorkshire – Burnsall – with it’s picture book village look, clear waters of the River Wharfe and a beautifully constructed, but increasingly fragile, Victorian aqueduct. The aqueduct transfers water gathered from the moors above Burnsall to Graincliffe water treatment works prior to distribution.  

Our customer, Ken Rodney Construction, Ripon-based pipeline specialists, working with engineering consultants Ovic, based near Bolton Abbey, confirmed the frailty of the aqueduct for themselves during a recent inspection. Working on behalf of Yorkshire Water, the team was tasked with developing a solution to repair a failed section of 24" diameter clayware pipe and 30" circular brick culvert
